As Lead, Product Analytics at Vetster, you'll be at the forefront of our data-driven initiatives, driving impactful decision-making across the company. You'll collaborate with various departments—including Product, Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience, Marketplace-Supply, and Business Development—each with unique challenges and opportunities. Your technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership will be instrumental in shaping our data practices and delivering solutions that significantly impact pet parents and veterinary professionals globally.

Your responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Team Leadership: Managing the Data team (reporting into the Director of Product), supporting the development of our data strategy, fostering team empowerment, and identifying scalable solutions to meet the evolving demands of a growing organization.
- Product Analytics Leadership: Lead in-depth analyses of user behavior, cohorts, and customer journeys using tools like Fullstory, Amplitude, or Mixpanel. Identify and activate opportunities for product improvement to enhance user engagement and retention.
- Analytics & Insights: Analyze product performance metrics to inform strategic decisions. Provide clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Experimentation & Testing: Plan, Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments to optimize product features and user experience.
- Data Visualization & Storytelling: Create compelling reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Looker. Present insights in a clear and impactful manner to drive decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and business teams to align analytics efforts with company goals. Advocate for data-driven decision-making across departments.
- Event Data Oversight: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate tracking of user interactions and events. Define data requirements and validate data integrity.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends in product analytics. Proactively suggest new tools, methodologies, or approaches to enhance analytics capabilities.
What you’ll bring
- Education & Experience: 7+ years of experience on product analytics or growth teams within fast-paced tech environments.
- Experienced People Leader: past experience guiding teams to achieve organizational goals, cultivating talent, and effectively managing team dynamics.
- Product Analytics Expertise: Proven experience with product analytics platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or FullStory. Strong understanding of user behavior analysis and customer journey mapping.
- Data Analysis Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation. Ability to extract and analyze data to generate actionable insights.
- Data Visualization Proficiency: Skilled in creating impactful visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Metabase.
- Experimentation Knowledge: Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and experiments. Familiarity with statistical concepts relevant to testing and user behavior analysis.
- Collaborative Mindset: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Programming Skills: Experience with Python or R for data analysis tasks is very beneficial but not the primary focus.
- Passion for Product: Enthusiasm for improving user experience and product performance through data-driven insights.
- Innovation Thinking: Proactively identifying new opportunities for leveraging data to drive product innovation.

- Stage 1: Introductory Call This is a 30-minute Google Meet video call with Keltie Neville (People Operations) to share more about Vetster and the role and learn more about you!
- Stage 2: Preliminary Interview This is a 30-minute Google Meet video interview with Robb Dawe (Director of Product) to discuss your experience and how it relates to the role at Vetster
- Stage 3: Skills Interview This is a 30-minute Google Meet video interview with Robb Dawe (Director of Product). Robb will take you through our product roadmap and discuss the technical aspects of the role
- Stage 3: Case Interview and Meet the Team Take home assignment followed by a 90-minute in-person interview at the Vetster Office (14 Birch Avenue, Toronto) with Robb Dawe, Director of Product, Vignesh Raghavan, Analytics Engineer II, and Regan Johnson, CTO–review assignment
