Join Our Mission
At Vetster, we are building the next generation of marketplace platforms, from connecting vets and pet parents, to getting all important medications quickly to pets. From building out critical architecture, to embracing artificial intelligence in product and internally.
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and operations. This is a unique, hands-on opportunity to work at the intersection of Generative AI, intelligent agent design, and scalable systems engineering. You will be consulting on high-impact initiatives, from architecting autonomous agents that revolutionize our internal workflows to embedding cutting-edge AI features that will delight our customers to advising on data projects. If you are a passionate engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and wants to build the next generation of AI-powered solutions, we want to hear from you.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
This is more than just a coding role; it's an opportunity to be a technical cornerstone for our products. You will have the autonomy to make a significant impact on our platform, our processes, and our people.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions, from conceptualization and prototyping to production monitoring and maintenance.
- Architect and implement autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents using frameworks like LangChain, n8n, MCP, A2A, and RAG pipelines to automate complex internal business processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to integrate cutting-edge generative AI capabilities and intelligent features into our core product offerings, directly enhancing the customer experience.
- Serve as a key technical leader and mentor for our engineering teams, providing expert guidance on AI/ML best practices, system architecture, and the practical application of LLM APIs and services.
- Engineer and maintain the critical data and context layers for our AI systems, including building robust data pipelines, vector databases, and context retrieval systems to ensure our models are accurate, relevant, and secure.
- Develop and champion a set of reusable SDKs, modular APIs, and best-practice patterns for AI development, enabling other teams to build and deploy AI features more rapidly and consistently.
- Act as an AI evangelist across the organization, developing and delivering training, workshops, and documentation to empower non-technical departments to effectively leverage LLMs and AI tools.
- Own the full lifecycle of AI models in production, implementing MLOps principles for CI/CD, observability, and continuous improvement to ensure our systems are reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.

- You have a history of leading technical projects, mentoring other engineers, and making critical architectural decisions.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and a strong command of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and API design.
- Experience deploying and operating scalable services in a major cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and a strong understanding of modern data engineering principles and tools (e.g., Airflow, Spark, Docker).
- You can articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence. You thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
